Here at Native Birding Tours we want to provide a fun and memorable birding trip for everyone at an affordable price! We cater to all experience levels; great for first time birders, families, or experienced birders alike!
Meet
your Guide, Jonathan!
Hey, I’m Jonathan, owner of Native Birding tours. I grew up in the North Carolina Piedmont and have been passionate about birds and wildlife from a young age. In undergrad I studied environmental science at a school in North Carolina, where I was introduced to birding the Outer Banks on an Ornithology field trip! After undergrad, I completed my master’s degree in biology at Marshall University where I studied rattlesnakes. After working for a while in South Carolina with non-game wildlife I shifted gears into ecotourism where I took a job on the Outer Banks with a kayaking guide company. I quickly fell in love with guiding and continue to guide kayak tours during the tourist season. During this time and with the encouragement from friends and family, the idea was hatched that has become Native Birding Tours, established in 2019!
